WP 8: Industry-led business plan to deliver innovative food products for the elderly population

The overall aim of this WP is to identify the best strategy for ensuring market access and consumers’ acceptability of elderly-tailored foods. In particular:
  • To identify potential products which could meet the European elderly nutrition
  • To identify the possibility to fortify (e.g. vitamins and minerals) traditional / innovative functional foods
  • To identify the best couple of nutrients and food matrices (i.e. the level of enrichment).
  • To meet sensorial data, shelf life, and consumer expectance especially for the elderly population
  • To define the strategy for producing innovative functional foods by large food companies
